Escale Oceania Marseille Vieux Port Hotel

Absolutely charming location, but disappointingly, there were no chairs to sit on-what is this, a camping ground? Must mention the unpleasant stench in the room that lingered after closing the balcony. Lastly, for all my troubles, one woudl think a complimentary gesture might've been in order. I almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

The room had a lovely view of the Old Port. Having a kettle in the room for tea and coffee was a nice touch, awesome for a cozy start to each day.

Room sizes were a mixed bag. One felt claustrophobic and the stairs leading to the hotel were cumbersome with luggage. Breakfast was limited and inconsistent, with some mornings offering choices and others barely filling the spread. There were also issues with shower fixtures that weren't completely fixed, running the risk of inconvenience seeking decent amenities. The communal areas, especially the stairwell, felt tired and in need of some care. Some guests experienced confusion over breakfast charges, leading to unwelcome surprises at checkout.

the location is very central just at the port, room is clean, breakfast is good.

the normal double room is actually without any windows and at top floor. room is lack of facilities, very simple and basic rooms, no car park will need to go to public car park and cost more than 20 euros per day.

Comfortable modernised hotel room with balcony overlooking the city streets - a view over the old harbour would be worth paying for.

The hotel is currently above a building site but the noise was not a problem.

Would be happy to recommend for a trip

the hotel was reasonably clean with marvellous and lovely location right on the old port and airy rooms. i was offered a room with captivating views of sea. recently added a good balcony and openable french windows were much appreciated during my trip. really enjoyed this perfectly pleasant stay on vacation.

location short walk to tourist information office, the center of everything, the old port, restaurants, shopping, historical landmarks and restaurants, sites and metro. satisfactory breakfast to start the day, fabulous food.

The location is really good, just steps from the bustling Vieux Port and the metro, made exploring Marseille easy. The staff were helpful, providing excellent tips on transport and dining options nearby.

Very kind staff at reception. Excellent location, 2 steps from Vieux Port, next to shopping center Bourse and shopping streets, right on La Canebiere. Nice room, large, modern and clean: 310, with balcony and lateral view of port. Breakfast OK for a 3 star hotel, a bit better than described here. Public paying parking at shopping center Bourse. The room was small, barely allowing space to open luggage. The bathroom had a bad smell, separate from the toilet, and there were issues with broken shower fixtures. Cleanliness was lacking, with dust found behind the door and only instant coffee available instead of a promised Nespresso machine.
